Experimental investigations on durability characteristics of ground granulated blast furnace slag mortar

چکیده

Ground Granulated Blast furnace Slag (GGBS), a waste product from steel plants, can be effectively utilized as pozzolanic material and used partial replacement to cement leading sustainable construction practice. Mortar is usually binding plastering material; hence the chances of exposure damaging environment are high than concrete. GGBS mortar should examined for durability weathering action, chemical attack, abrasion ensure long-life cycle less repair in structures. The present paper an experimental investigation properties by considering parameters like water absorption, effective porosity, sorptivity, attacks, resistance, chloride ion resistance. This study involves Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) with 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% 70%. test results compared OPC observed significant enhancement characteristics mortar. Also, it that 50% gives optimum mix strength characteristics.
